WNC JUMPSTART PROGRAM
At PLHS, those students who qualify can participate in our college program. In this program, students work hard to complete courses to graduate with 60+ credits (an AA degree).
WHAT IS JUMP START COLLEGE?
The Jump Start College program is a dual-enrollment opportunity for students in selected Nevada high schools. Students enroll in college courses through Western Nevada College while simultaneously earning high school credits. Jump Start College participants are able to complete up to 60 college credits through WNC.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Students who have met Algebra II grade requirements may be considered. They will complete the college Accuplacer essay test and those who test into English 101 will be eligible to apply for the “Jump Start College” program.
PROGRAM EXPECTATIONS
Jump Start students will complete their degree requirements for English and mathematics, as well as several other area, depending on the participating high school. Check with your high school counselor for the list of classes offered.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Tuition assistance varies by high school. Please contact your high school counselor for more information.
