​Dear Lakers Families, On Thursday, December 2 we are anticipating a shortage of teachers and aides. Because we have no substitute teachers on call, this lack of instructional personnel leaves us without enough adults for supervision, safety, or to effectively support student learning. As a result, we are planning on having a virtual learning day on Thursday. For the virtual learning day, students will not be required to join video meetings. They will be given work to complete by their teachers and will be expected to respond to communications sent out by teachers. Students who participate in communicating with teachers and doing work assigned that day will be marked present. Your student should bring their Chromebook home on Wednesday night and make sure they check their email in the morning. Teachers will email students by 8:30 in the morning. Many teachers will be asking students to complete missing work that day. We know that holding a virtual learning day such as this is disruptive to families and we apologize for the inconvenience it may cause. Thank you, Sarah Russell Interim Principal​

Two 6th graders tested positive for COVID yesterday and today. The students were also on the MS boys basketball team. Please get your student tested if they are in 6th grade or are on the MS boys basketball team. Because the 6th grade cohort spends all day together and these students interact closely with most classmates, we are canceling 6th grade classes and MS boys basketball practices for the week. No 6th grade Monday 11/22 or Tuesday 11/23. Please take care, stay healthy, and enjoy time with your family for the holiday.

It has been a challenging year for many families and spending time together for the holidays is just what many families need right now. We at PLHS are grateful for each one of you and are grateful that you choose to send your student to school with us. Being a part of the Laker family is a blessing for us all and your student enriches that blessing.
